There comes a time in midlife when everything changes.

For me, it happened when the business I had poured myself into, a business I had taken back from the brink, was sold. My role was made redundant overnight.

It was a hard blow. My confidence took a hit. And for the first time in decades of working at a high level, I had to stop and ask, What now?

What do I really want?

That experience taught me something raw. You can be capable, experienced, and successful and still find yourself suddenly on the outside looking in.

It’s not just me. Redundancy, divorce, menopause, caring for ageing parents, empty nests… so many professional women in their 50s and 60s face these same crossroads. Careers cut short. Confidence shaken. A future that feels uncertain.

But here’s what I also know, this stage of life isn’t the end of the story. More and more women are starting businesses of their own , not just for income, but for independence, stimulation, and the security of building something that’s truly theirs.

As a former C-Suite Executive, now Business Mentor and Strategist, I have spent over 35 + years in the business world, leading national and global teams, scaling big name brands beyond $100M, rescuing underperforming businesses on the brink of collapse, and launching three startups of my own.

But when redundancy hit in midlife, it was different. Different age. Different stage. This time, I wanted something cohesive. Simpler. Aligned. Scalable on my terms.
